"Hesitation" is an original ceramic stoneware sculpture colored using underglazes. The quotation by Elizabeth Cady Stanton which is written around the body of the sculpture says "the moment we begin to hesitate to tell the truth that is in us . . . light & life no longer flow into our souls."
The inspiration for her was a photo of a beautiful little laughing girl who was covering her wonderful smile. It made me think about how I occasionally see girls and women cover their faces when they laugh but I've never seen a man or boy do the same.
